Makro Basic Estimative Index, 500 ml

In an aquarium where only invertebrates are kept, or with only a small number of fish, or in an aquarium with intense light and many plants, the macronutrient levels might become too low to maintain good plant growth. Makro Basic Estimative Index adds the most important macronutrients of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium to your tank.

This fertilizer is based on the fertilizing system Estimative Index (PMDD Style) by Tom Barr and can be given on a daily basis. It has been designed to supply your waterplants with an unlimited amount of the nutrients they need, which helps them grow very fast and keeps the algae at bay.

Per 1 ml of fertilizer, the following nutrients are added to 40l of aquarium water:
- 0.920 mg/l nitrate
- 0.700 mg/l potassium
- 0.170 mg/l phosphate
- 0.025 mg/l magnesium

Use:
- In tanks with low light and few animals: 2.5 ml per 40 liters, 1-2 times per week
- In tanks with intense light: 5 ml per 40 liters per day.

With the dosage pump (please order separately) you can dose the fertilizer very precisely. One pump stroke will add 1 ml of fertilizer. Alternatively you can use a screw-on dosage cap that can be filled with up to 20 ml. It makes fertilizer dosage easier especially for large tanks.

A 50% water change per week is obligatory in order to prevent macronutrients from accumulating in the tank. The fertilizer dosage may be raised or lowered according to the requirements of your tank. Please make sure that there is a sufficient supply of CO2 of about 30 mg/l, and add 1 ml of Mikro Basic Eisenvolldünger (complete iron fertilizer) per 40 litres of tank water per day in order to provide your plants with sufficient amounts of micronutrients. If the light above your tank is not very intensive you'll only need to add Mikro Basic 1 or 2 times a week. Please raise or lower the amount of Mikro Basic according to the requirements of your plants, too.

Storage life:
At least a year. Store at room temperature and keep out of reach of children and animals. Protect from direct sunlight.
