Item with minor defectsThe following is no longer as new in this article:We offer all plants with defects that we no longer want to sell as fresh, top-quality goods as B-stock.
These defects could be, for example:
• Discoloration and/or leaf defects
• Irregularities in the growth formWe only offer plants as B-stock that we believe are still strong enough to grow and thrive in the aquarium.
These plants are already cultivated in their submersed form in the sealed pot (in contrast to most traditionally-produced plants, which are grown above the waterline in aquatic plant nurseries), and when planted into an aquarium, there is no need for them to shed their air leaves and sprout underwater leaves ... therefore, inVitro plants are off to a good start in a tank and will take root very quickly.
Staurogyne repens
Staurogyne repens is a fresh green, compact, strong plant for the aquarium foreground. It was first found in Rio Cristalino in Brazil. It is related to the genus Hygrophila, however, Staurogyne has a much more compact, low, bushy growth habit and smaller, all green leaves. It only grows to a height of 5-10 cm. When planting, cut off the longest stems to induce the plant to sprout horizontal shoots from its basis, which will spread along the aquarium substrate, forming a carpet.
