Buddha nut

The Buddha nut is the dried fruit pod of the Pterygota alata tree and a true natural wonder for your aquarium. With its slightly rough surface, it not only provides a safe hiding place for small fish, shrimp, or catfish, but thanks to its stability, it can also be planted with mosses or epiphytic plants such as Anubias or Java fern. It blends seamlessly into a natural aquarium landscape and creates a particularly lively design.

Over time, the Buddha nut releases tannins and humic substances into the water, which improves the water quality in the long term. These natural substances have a slight antibacterial effect, support the health of the animals, and create a stress-free, natural habitat similar to tropical rivers. With a size of approx. 6–12 cm in diameter and 9–12 cm in height, each specimen is unique and fits perfectly into a wide variety of tanks.

Note: Before placing in the aquarium, soak for 2–3 days or weigh down with a stone so that the Buddha nut sinks immediately.
