Indian Almond Tree - Set consisting of: Indian Almond Tree leaves, Indian Almond Tree tubes and Indian Almond Tree bark plus 1x seeds (seed capsule) incl. description
The Almond tree Terminalia catappa L. (almond tree leaves, almond tree tubes, almond tree bark) has long been popular in aquatics and especially among shrimp and crayfish lovers. On the one hand, the leaves and bark of the almond tree contain important tannins and humic substances, which in turn can help with shrimp or crayfish problems, and on the other, the Indian Almond tree leaves, Almond tree tubes and Almond tree bark are a great decoration in the aquarium on their surface In the course of time and through the decomposition process, bacteria and microorganisms settle, which are eaten by the shrimp. Even the decaying leaves themselves are especially prized by crayfish as food.
Effect of Almond tree leaves and Almond tree bark
The active ingredients of the Almond tree leaves and Almond tree bark (including tannins) have a mildly disinfecting and fungicidal (against fungi and spores) effect. Accordingly, marine Almond leaves and bark can be picked very well e.g. Prevent fungus and shedding problems in shrimps and crabs.
The pH value of the aquarium water is lowered only very slightly by the leaves and bark of the almond tree, the total salt content (conductance) is slightly increased. The water can, as with many other leaf species, after a while get a slight / minimal amber tone, but always remains crystal clear.
Dosage of Almond Tree leaves
Nano: 2 - 3 leaves for about approx. 40 l Aquarium water
Normal: 2 - 3 leaves for about approx. 100 l Aquarium water
Simply lay the Almond leaves on the water surface. After 1 - 2 days, the leaves are soaked in water and slowly sink to the bottom. Alternatively, the Almond Tree leaves can be well weighed down with a stone, which then holds them in place on the ground. In addition to their effect, Almond Tree leaves also provide a very decorative sight in a natural aquarium.
Dosage of Almond Tree bark and tubes
Nano: 1 - 2 tubes / 5 - 10g bark for about approx. 40 l Aquarium water
Normal: 1 - 2 tubes / 10 - 20g bark for about approx. 100 l Aquarium water
Simply add the Almond tree bark to the aquarium. In addition to their effect, Almond tree bark also provide a very decorative sight in a natural aquarium.
Effect duration
After 2 - 3 weeks, although the effect of the Almond tree leaves and Almond tree bark is largely exhausted, they should nevertheless be left in the basin. The leaves that decompose over time are eaten by shrimps and crabs to the last detail.
