Filter and soil bacteria are extremely important for a well-functioning and stable running aquarium.
Filter bacteria break down pollutants and convert them into harmless degradation products and nutrients available to plants. These bacteria are either not present or only present in very small numbers, especially when setting up a new aquarium in the start-up phase... they only form and develop over time, when their "food supply" of pollutants (decomposing food remains, animal excretions, dead plant parts, etc.) increases and a balance is established in the aquarium.
As this balance does not yet exist in the running-in phase, there is often an unwanted accumulation of pollutants in the first few weeks, which can quickly become dangerous for the aquarium inhabitants, or can cause algae to grow extremely quickly and quickly spoil your enjoyment of the aquarium.
JBL Denitrol - Aquarium Starter adds millions of useful, autotrophic and pollutant-degrading bacterial strains to the aquarium water, which make it possible to stock fish immediately.
JBL Denitrol contains living bacterial cultures with enzymes for rapid degradation of pollutants in fresh, brackish and sea water. The bacteria have been inactivated so that they do not need any food (NH4, NO2) in the bottles and do not produce NO3. The starter bacteria are only activated when they come into contact with the water in the aquarium.
