ProScape Mount Aso Soil Brown

The JBL PROSCAPE MOUNT ASO SOIL BROWN is a natural, active soil made from volcanic ash from Mount Aso in Japan and was developed specifically for professional aquascaping. This fertile substrate provides optimal anchorage for aquarium plants and supports vigorous, healthy plant growth.

The active soil ensures soft, slightly acidic aquarium water that closely mimics tropical conditions. At the same time, it can bind excess nutrients and release them back to the plants as needed. In this way, the substrate creates ideal conditions for sophisticated aquascapes and lush plant life.

The unique structure of this volcanic substrate also supports the soil’s natural filtering effect. Colorants and suspended particles can be bound through adsorption, helping the soil contribute to exceptionally clear aquarium water. The good water flow supplies plant roots with nutrients and provides pollutant-degrading bacteria with a large, oxygen-rich surface area.

JBL PROSCAPE MOUNT ASO SOIL BROWN has no sharp edges and is therefore also suitable for aquariums with burrowing fish. For optimal substrate design, it can be combined with JBL PROSCAPE VOLCANO POWDER and a substrate heater.
