Also great for making the filter intake baby shrimp safe. The sponge is very finely-pored and does not let the smallest shrimp through.

Just remove the large-slotted intake protection from the intake tube, bore some more holes into the tube and pull the sponge over it ... and not even the tiniest shrimplet can disappear in your filter.

Please note
To prevent even the tiniest shrimp from entering the filter, this sponge has very fine pores. Especially in heavily stocked tanks or if there are lots of floating particles in the water, the sponge will clog after a short time, which reduces the flow rate considerably. Control the sponge every time you change water and clean it, if necessary. This is most important in the beginning until you know the cleaning intervals your sponge needs.
