These plants are already cultivated in their submersed form in the sealed pot (in contrast to most traditionally-produced plants, which are grown above the waterline in aquatic plant nurseries), and when planted into an aquarium, there is no need for them to shed their air leaves and sprout underwater leaves ... therefore, inVitro plants are off to a good start in a tank and will take root very quickly.
Littorella uniflora is a small but very characteristic plant. In nature it grows on lakeshores in Europe, North and South America. It does well under low light, the leaves grow out a bit longer then. Every rosette of the plant can be planted individually, with a distance of a few centimetres. Littorella uniflora sends out runners readily, which grow into a dense carpet. The leaves grow to a length of 2 to 5 cm and a thickness of 0.1 to 0.3 cm. Littorella uniflora is suitable for terraria and along the edge of garden ponds, too.
