Marsilea hirsuta 1-2-Grow!
Australian clover fern, inVitroThese plants are already cultivated in their submersed form in the sealed pot (in contrast to most traditionally-produced plants, which are grown above the waterline in aquatic plant nurseries), and when planted into an aquarium, there is no need for them to shed their air leaves and sprout underwater leaves ... therefore, inVitro plants are off to a good start in a tank and will take root very quickly.
Marsilea hirsuta
Marsilea hirsuta is a fascinating ground covering plant from Australia. It is often sold with leaves that resemble of those of four-leaf clover. After some time in the aquarium, it sprouts different leaf forms, depending on the conditions it grows in. A low-growing form with single leaves is possible that looks like a large Glossostigma variant, but leaves with two, three or four lobes with leaf stalks of different height may appear, too, entirely depending on the environment the plant is kept in. No matter which form its leaves take, Marsilea hirsuta will spread quickly in the tank by throwing runners.
