Item with minor defectsThe following is no longer as new in this article:We offer all plants with defects that we no longer want to sell as fresh, top-quality goods as B-stock.
These defects could be, for example:
• Discoloration and/or leaf defects
• Irregularities in the growth formWe only offer plants as B-stock that we believe are still strong enough to grow and thrive in the aquarium.
These plants are already cultivated in their submersed form in the sealed pot (in contrast to most traditionally-produced plants, which are grown above the waterline in aquatic plant nurseries), and when planted into an aquarium, there is no need for them to shed their air leaves and sprout underwater leaves ... therefore, inVitro plants are off to a good start in a tank and will take root very quickly.
Sagittaria subulata
Sagittaria subulata from South America is an ideal, undemanding foreground plant for large aquaria. It spreads through short runners, and forms dense groups. Plant individual plants at a distance of 2-4 cm. May be somewhat unpredictable, as it can grow to a height of 50 cm all of a sudden with advancing age, depending on the conditions it grows in. When you decide to put the large plant into the background it may sprout short leaves again ... In the aquarium it may sprout a long flowerstalk that reaches the waterline, and small white flowers may appear directly above the water surface.
Origins: South America
Growth: medium
Height: approx. 5 - 30 cm
