Sterilizer against green algaeThe Twinstar M5 is a sterilizer for the prevention of green algae in freshwater tanks. It consists of a computer-controlled unit and an electrode that is installed inside the aquarium. It can reduce algae formation as it reduces algal spores in the water column. Effective against the following algae:
- hair algae
- blue-green algae
- fuzz algae
- spot algae
- dust algae
Moreover, the Twinstar makes the water much clearer, improves plant growth and increases the overall vitality of the aquarium inhabitants.
The Twinstar M5 is especially suitable for keeping a tank free from algae especially during the critical weeks after the set-up. The complex algorithm of the control unit automatically adapts to the time the tank has been running and becomes active at different intervals.
With 2 modes for different tank sizes.
The Twinstar M5 is absolutely harmless for aquarium inhabitants, aquatic plants and sessile bacteria in the filter and the substrate.
Recommended for tank sizes of approx. 20 - 60 litres in mode 1

Habe mir den Twinstar gekauft, weil ich nicht wollte das mir wieder der Spass am Aquarium durch eine Algenplage genommen wird.
Habe Zeitgleich ein Nano-Cube und einen Scappers-Tank eingerichtet. Einziger Unterschied das Licht, der Filter und das Becken Volumen.
Düngung proportional gleich.
Fazit ist, im Nano-Cube habe ich keine Algen, und in dem anderen mit Twinstar alle Algen die man beim einfahren haben kann. Kieselalge, grüner Belag und jetzt eine Fadenalgen Pest.
Ich denke, viel verkehrt machen kann man bei dem Gerät nicht, also schliesse ich das aus.
Für das Geld sollte man sich lieber ein paar schöne Garnelen kaufen. Absoluter Fail.
Ein Stern dafür, es könnte ja noch schlimmer sein, wer weiß.
