The modular base plates are specially designed to increase or adapt your filter area in the aquarium - ideal for aquarists who value stable water quality, healthy plants and well thought-out aquascaping.

Optimum water circulation
In combination with water conditioners or an additional flow pump, these bottom filter plates support even water distribution throughout the tank. The fine 2 mm slots allow a gentle but continuous flow through the substrate. This prevents rotting in the substrate - a common cause of poor plant growth and poor water values.

Biological filter process
The plates also promote the natural biological filter process by providing a larger area for nitrifying bacteria to colonize. In combination with a bottom filter and regular water flow through the substrate, ammonium is efficiently converted into nitrate - which contributes to stable water values and a healthy ecosystem.

Flexible areas of application
These panels are not just purely functional: many aquascapers also use them to build individual back walls, terraces or hidden technical areas. They are also popular for cultivating moss - their even structure makes it easy to tie plants to them and they grow evenly across the surface.
