These plants are already cultivated in their submersed form in the pot (in contrast to most traditionally-produced plants, which are grown above the waterline in aquatic plant nurseries), and when planted into an aquarium, there is no need for them to shed their air leaves and sprout underwater leaves ... therefore, inVitro plants are off to a good start in a tank and will take root very quickly.


Taxiphyllum barbieri "Bogor Moss"

Taxiphyllum barbieri "Bogor Moss" originally comes from South-East Asia. It is relatively undemanding and does not require any special water parameters or lots of light. Taxiphyllum barbieri attaches to all kinds of substrates very well, which makes it great for decorating rocks or driftwood or to cover up aquarium equipment. The plant is fixed with a nylon thread until it has taken hold on the substrate. If it grows too fast it can easily be trimmed with a pair of scissors. In shrimp breeding tanks, Taxiphyllum barbieri "Bogor Moss", often also called Java Moss, provides the offspring with great hiding-places.
